Safety Around Water

May is National Water Safety Month. Teaching children how to swim and be safe around water is one of the most important life skills parents can help their children learn. It not only saves lives; it builds confidence.

During National Water Safety Month the we offer Safety Around Water, a FREE program designed to engage and educate parents about the importance of water safety skills and provide more of America’s youth access to water safety lessons.

In the time it takes to answer a phone call, a child can become submerged underwater and lose consciousness. That’s how fast a drowning can happen. Drowning can occur nearly anywhere with standing water: pools, ponds, culverts, bathtubs – even a bucket.
DATES: MAY 30 – June 2 Times
This is a FREE PROGRAM open to the public for ages 5-8, times vary by Family Center.
